Our clients are citizens of India and were in the US in lawful H-4 status. However, when they last entered the US, their I-94’s were cut short because of their passports. They overstayed their status and were placed in deportation proceedings. Attorney Furqan represented them and argued that they were eligible for Voluntary Departure so that they could leave and get their H-4’s stamped again from abroad. The ICE attorney did not oppose the request for Voluntary Departure, and thereafter the judge granted the request, paving the path for the clients to attend their H-4 visa interviews abroad.
